A primary focus of the investment process is managing downside risk. The fund principally invests in corporate debt securities and floating-rate loans rated below investment grade. It may also include investment-grade debt instruments and those from foreign issuers. The fund's corporate debt securities are generally unsecured and carry a fixed interest rate. HYSD aims for a dollar-weighted average effective maturity not exceeding five years, and a duration of three years or less."
