Its product offerings encompass treatments for hemophilia, such as Haemoctin and Vihuma for acute therapy and prophylaxis of hemophilia A, and Haemonine for hemophilia B. Biotest's portfolio further includes immunotherapeutic agents like Cytotect CP biotest for cytomegalovirus infections; Fovepta for hepatitis B prophylaxis in neonates; Hepatect for preventing hepatitis B reinfection; and Zutectra for hepatitis B re-infection prophylaxis after liver transplantation. Moreover, Intratect and IgG Next Generation are used for primary immune and secondary antibody deficiency syndromes, autoimmune diseases, and neurological indications, while Varitect addresses varicella zoster virus infections. Other notable products are Albiomin and Biseko, which aim to restore and maintain circulating blood volume; Cofact for clotting factors deficiency; and Fibrinogen for congenital fibrinogen deficiency. The company also provides Trimodulin for community-acquired pneumonia and COVID-19, and Pentaglobin for bacterial infections. Founded in 1946 and headquartered in Dreieich, Germany, Biotest was originally known as Biotest Serum-Institut GmbH before changing its name to Biotest Aktiengesellschaft in 1986. As of January 21, 2022, it operates as a subsidiary of Grifols, S.A.
