The MSCI PACIFIC ex JAPAN SELECT SCREENED index seeks to replicate the investment performance of a market comprising large and mid-capitalization companies from developed Pacific nations, excluding Japan. This index incorporates a strict set of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) screening criteria. It specifically omits securities issued by entities associated with controversial weapons, those holding an MSCI ESG Rating of 'CCC' or no rating, and companies that derive certain revenues from tobacco, conventional weapons, nuclear weapons, civilian firearms, thermal coal, unconventional and/or arctic oil and gas extraction, or palm oil. Additionally, any issuer with an MSCI Controversies Score of 0 is excluded. A core aim of this index is to maintain a lower greenhouse gas intensity relative to its parent index.
