Company overview

Based in Haifa, Israel, and established in 2001, Pluri Inc. is a biotechnology company dedicated to advancing placenta-derived cell therapies. Its primary goal is to address a spectrum of health issues, including inflammatory conditions, muscle damage, and blood disorders. The company's core development involves placental expanded (PLX) cell products. A leading candidate, PLX-PAD, is currently in a Phase III clinical trial to improve muscle recovery following hip fracture surgery. It is also undergoing a Phase I/II trial, in partnership with Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, for the treatment of steroid-refractory graft versus host disease. Furthermore, PLX-PAD has successfully completed a Phase II clinical trial for acute respiratory distress syndrome linked to COVID-19 and a Phase I trial for patients with incomplete recovery after bone marrow transplantation. Another key product, PLX-R18, is being developed to aid in the recovery of blood cell production following hematopoietic cell transplantation. Pluri is also collaborating with the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Department of Defense to create a therapeutic solution for acute radiation syndrome. The company, formerly known as Pluristem Therapeutics Inc., adopted its current name, Pluri Inc., in July 2022.
