The Plastics and Chemicals segment manufactures polypropylene, expandable polystyrene, caprolactam, and an array of other specialty and industrial chemicals. These products serve diverse industries such as consumer goods, food and beverage packaging, automotive, construction, agriculture, oil, and pharmaceuticals. Alpek, S.A.B. de C.V. was established in 1975, is headquartered in San Pedro Garza García, Mexico, and operates as a subsidiary of Alfa, S. A. B. de C. V.
