Beyond pharmaceuticals, Nippon Chemiphar offers a variety of quasi-drugs, nutritional supplements, health foods, cosmetics, and different types of creams. Its generic medications reach hospitals and pharmacies via wholesale distributors. Founded in Tokyo, Japan, in 1950, the company was initially known as Hitachi Chemical Co., Ltd., changing its name to Nippon Chemiphar Co., Ltd. in 1970.
